More on geology
Rainbow Fluorite, a complex crystal that’s part of the Halide family, owes its formation to calcium and fluorine mineral rich fluids that circulate in hydrothermal veins. During the cooling and crystallization process, some layers are imbued with trace elements of pigment-creating minerals like manganese (pinks and purples), uranium (yellows, greens and UV reactive glow) , and thorium, which absorb ultraviolet light. Some Fluorite specimens will re-emit this glow as visible light, as some specimens react to ultraviolet light.
Fluorite is the mineral of reference for the 4th hardness level on the Moh’s scale.
Fluorite, especially the beautiful gemmy and cubic/octahedral type can be found in China. Chunkier varieties are also mined in South Africa, Mexico, Mongolia, United Kingdom, USA, Canada, Tanzania, Rwanda and Argentina.

More on history
Rainbow Fluorite is called the ‘Stone of Genius’ was named after the latin word ‘fluere’, meaning ‘flow’ in 1797. It’s part of the Halide family and some specimens are UV reactive. Fluorite has been used historically in ancient civilizations in China and Egypt for decorative purposes, although nowadays it has more of an industrial purpose, as it is also a compound used in aluminum and glass manufacturing.
Fluorite and my yearly sale
For as long as I can remember, crystals have been a monumental part of my life (full story here) , but its only, last year, in November of 2023 that I decided to supply ethically sourced crystals from my trusted suppliers to spread my passion and most importantly to educate people on their fantastic properties — both mesmerizingly geological and holistically interesting.
Coincidentally, this year during the same chilly month of November it just so happened that my favourite crystal warehouse sale popped up at the Hilton Hotel in Montreal and they had so many fascinating pieces: I now have 45 unique specimens for sale on my Instagram ↓

• The acuity it provides also enhances memory and information retention, making it an incredible stone for studying, improved mind-body coordination and organization.
• Fluorite may boost self-confidence (precisely the yellow variety) and it protects against energy drain.
• The purple varieties aid in overcoming mental and psychic manipulation, just as green coloured Fluorites will create a barrier between empaths and emotional vampires.
