IT HAPPENS FOR A REASON

My big decision to enrol

If someone would have told me Astrology facilitated this — I would have rolled my eyes a few years ago when I was very much in tune, but blocked by my innate skepticism.

The astro-transits when I was signing-up

• Feb 4, 2025: Jupiter at 11° Gemini Conjunct my Natal Jupiter at 10° Gemini (my Jupiter Return!)

• Feb 7, 2025: Neptune at 28° Pisces perfectly Conjunct the North Node at the entry point of my Natal 5H (+ a loose conjunction to my Part of Fortune at 12° Pisces)

What does this gibberish mean, anyways?

Had I given myself a One-Time Transit Astrology Reading I would have been able to say to my then "in January" stressed self (I was worried about the possibility of my student loan getting accepted or not on time for my school-payment deadline on February 5): This is a destined path of expansion for me, as Jupiter (which rules over luck and higher education) is "returning home" in my Natal Chart the day before the deadline and moving direct and OUT OF RETROGRADE. Forward movement is guaranteed, plus with the beautiful support from Neptune, the North Node of destiny and my Natal Part of Fortune mingling at the cusp of my chart’s 5H of inner child dream-fulfillment — there was no stopping me.

My journey into Diamonds and Gemmology: this initiatory passion of mine has coincided with some pretty significant transits. Just as other big moments of commitment have also. I can’t help but start off cryptic, I’m a Scorpio rising after all.

The cliff was imminent. I had to cross over to the other side; the uncertainty of a Diamond-based career, but the excitement of my soul is now quenched.

How did it come to this? Naturally, I’ve been working in crystal retail since 2019 and upon some unfortunate twists of faith, I was yanked out of this domain to gain stability elsewhere. In the process of doing the very necessary "adulting" and setting my dreams aside to establish myself professionally, the working-world revealed its monotonous challenges when you aren’t lit up by what you do.

Each year I go to the Annual Gem Show at Palais des Congrès in Montreal, and I always pass by the iGEM Montreal Institute of Gemmology’s pop-up stand, although how many times have I walked away… with plenty of questions swirling in my mind still, daring not to seek answers. The show of 2024, also the 63rd edition of the event, was different however, I had my 13th piece of Moldavite with me (a birthday gift) and it was too clear and too flawless for me to believe that this 4 gram half rough/half polished pendant was authentic. I approached the iGEM stand for the first time to set up the appraisal process for this now-certified green Tektite. I believe that every Moldavite pushes you towards a 360° transformation: the purpose of this one being to initiate me into the fascinating world of Gemmology.

EVERY LITTLE THING COUNTS

Where there’s a will there’s a way

The reality of being a student right now isn’t a given, like many who can’t relinquish their job, I’m in the process of completing this intensive program after full-time work hours, with a loan as my trojan-horse. In a perfect world the GIA Gemmologist diploma would allow me to deal, appraise and teach within the field of all coloured stones including Diamonds, but until then — the WGF (World Gem Foundation) Diamond Professional diploma at iGEM is within my range, nonetheless a big step in the direction of my aspirations.

It may sound silly to say, but jumping the gun with this decision feels like the easiest source of joyful motivation that fuels my inner child-like wonder for the world, for something bigger and better. I feel it in my heart that this opportunity is one of my many manifestations now coming to life, with the following signs as confirmations:

✓ Being gifted the largest AA Grade Herkimer Diamond I now own, a few days after my enrolment.

✓ My loan application working out seamlessly in the exact amount that I needed to complete my schooling.

✓ The Institute opening limited spots within the Gemmologist class of 2024-2025 — that goes over the Diamond certification — to accommodate and guarantee my last minute entry.

These last few weeks encompassing my successful admission and application felt like this inspiring and relatable quote from the Alchemist …

"When you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it".

Here I am amazed and attesting that this too is true. Dreams do come true.

ROLE MODELS EVERYWHERE

The Journey of A Gem

When we have a role-model, hopes turn into a tangible step by step manual. When I was churning over this thought, during the long evening hours of my office job, I wondered "if @thejourneyofagem can move to Bangkok (the coloured stone hub of the world) to become an accredited Gemmologist, then what am I waiting for"? As I type this sentence into my humble blog, it is 11:11 pm on my clock. Yet another divinely aligned synchronicity. And yes, I believe in this too.

In the meantime, impatiently waiting on the floor, gratitude journal and heels scattered with my "diamond" pen in hand, I am taking the time to really soak in this moment, this quiet victory and soon to be my most nourishing accomplishment.

FAST FORWARD TO SPRING

More predicative astro-transits

Between February and the start of my classes at the end of April, I experienced a second fairytale-like moment during the New Moon, Partial Solar Eclipse at 9° Aries on March 29, 2025. Just like the previous time, I had to inquire the stars as all Astrologers do. I pulled a triple-synastry chart of the significant people involved (including myself) and the Natal Chart of the day at the specific time of this self-explanatory event, I write blushingly looking at the picture below. And behold, a shocking triple-alignment involving my Natal North Node of destiny at 21° Cancer, transiting Mars at 22° Cancer and my partner’s Natal Moon at 18° Cancer…

This was it: the perfect conditions for a communion between hearts and decisive action in the homebody sign of nurturing Cancer.

But that wasn’t all. There was a second massive triple-alignment in the sign of Libra on the same day, the ultimate lover’s ideal and to be described in the Q&A below. This is the fun part of being a Professional Astrologer. The deeper you look, the more you will always find.

Mars in Leo: meaning and energy

As spring’s warm rays awaken the seeds planted during winter and the seasons prior — with Mars also in forward movement and transiting Leo again since April 18th — I am then going through my Mars Return, having Mars in Leo in my Natal Chart. If you are also having a Mars Return this can be a fruitful and a productively passionate time for you, as it is for me too.

Mars is the planet of action, anger, ambition, passion, attraction and all things vital and Leo is the 5th sign of the Zodiac ruled by the Sun: confidence, pride and victory orbit around the magnificent mane of this Fixed Fire sign.

Feeling worthy of the task is the key to extracting the most success out of this transit.

This astrological synchronicity is lining up with the official start of my theory-classes for my WGF Diamond Professional degree at the iGEM Montreal Institute of Gemmology. Having my greatest aspiration blossom is my driving force, but also my heaviest secret. A REAL LIFE EXAMPLE

Knowing when to charge forward

It always moves me when I give examples out of my own chart for reference because the signs are all there: my Natal Mars is at the cusp of the 9H into the 10H which is the transition between Higher Education and Spiritual Fulfillment and the Career and Legacy seen in the 10H. This is precisely the dilemma I am experiencing now — having to go to school secretly while working full-time at my office job with the ambition to move into my desired field: closer to gemstones and to my true calling.

I believe that Natal Charts are the first indicator, when it is read well by an experienced Astrologer, of the blueprint guiding your actions in this lifetime to embody the plenitude of your Soul’s potential. Having this knowledge myself, I know that now is NOT a time to procrastinate or doubt that other things take priority over this, since it is literally written in the stars that this is what I have to focus on, at least while Mars is still in Leo until June 17th (when Mars enters Virgo). I’ve been studying everywhere (even on the bus)!

MOLDAVITE AS AN INTRODUCTION

If we go back to September of last year when I received my 13th Moldavite — and yet again I believe that this catalyst of a stone propels you into your most elevated timeline through the fire of great transformation — it was such an externally flawless piece that I went to get it tested at the SAME Institute of Gemmology that I am attending now, and had I not received that space-gem, I wouldn’t have had the courage to inquire in that direction. I had become complacent prior to then, believing that the only outlet for my bigger-than-life passion for Gemmology was restricted to my blog or to social media content… with the dim hopes that I get enough engagement to bring my work to a more profitable level. One day.

This is the power of Moldavite and of synchronicity: what started off as an appraisal became the opportunity for me to inject myself into this specialized program with tangible gem-related career prospects. I can set myself free.

To be a student of life is one thing, than to be bound by the performance of an academic one.

As I stand on the doorstep of this pivotal moment in my life, I am documenting each step of my journey because I am truly amazed by how much knowledge I need to assimilate in such a short span of time to get this diploma.

Q: What is the second triple-alignment in your "Engagement’s" Natal Chart? How is that even possible?

A: Being at the right place and at the right time can be seen with Astrology. If the first triple Conjunction in the sign of Cancer revealed that our hearts were on the same page — then the second one involving my Venus (planet of love) at 10° Libra, the Ascendant (or Rising Sign of the day) Conjunct at 9° Libra and my partner’s Natal Pluto also Conjunct at 11° Libra reveals that the "Soul/Sole Purpose" of that day was a complete transformation of our current relationship into a new, deeper more intimate one.
